Covid-19 did something we have not been able to do before – bring remote work to the attention of upper management!  They were shoved into accepting it as offices were closed.

Not only was remote working used for Covid-19 but not there are lots of discussions with companies that are looking at remote work becoming a permanent part of their businesses.

This is a life-changing as remote working was not accepted before this.

The reason for the change?  So many people working from home and getting amazing work done.  In fact, there is so much work getting done that articles are starting to appear talking about the burnout by employees as they are working so much.

Now that we have been home working with our families for a number of months, it is curious what the impact is.  I have been working with people that have not worked remotely for any significant amount of time.  Some of them were downright against remote work.

After several months of working from home, I have seen a significant mind shift.  I have not heard from anyone directly who hates remote work and pining for getting back in the office.

Some would like a private place to work rather than in the middle of the family but that does not seem to be too daunting.

In anecdotal conversations with people who are working from home reveal a surprise for some that it is going so well.

We have a new world ahead of us.  If you are a business executive and your employees can work from home, I would suggest you start planning for a full-time remote working option for many of your employees.

A new day is here…get ready for it.
